I’ve wanted to be a filmmaker since I was 19. I am now 29 and I have yet to make a feature length film. Life is passing me by and my dreams are choking on dust. I plan to change that by April 15th, 2010, which is the day I turn 30. By that time, I plan to have a feature length film in production.
This blog serves two purposes:
- To force some accountability onto myself so that I’ll finally get the ball rolling. Now my desire to make a film isn’t hidden in the back closet of my brain where I can ignore it anytime I want; it’s in the public square before a crowd of my peers.
- To connect with those of you out there who might be experiencing similar “brink of 30″ moments. Perhaps you’re turning 40, or 25, or even 36 1/2, and you’re wondering where the time has gone. Didn’t you want to be an novelist by now? Whatever happened to starting your own business? Why didn’t you ever finish your college degree? I’m hoping that some of you will find this little site and be inspired enough to finally chase down those elusive dreams.
Better get back to work. Contrary to popular opinion, movies aren’t hand delivered to you by magical garden gnomes (if only).
